This firm was established through the merger of two well-known companies, enhancing its capabilities and market reach. The client provides innovative financing solutions tailored to middle-market companies and extends capital to private equity and venture capital firms. With a strong and versatile platform, the client is dedicated to fostering long-term partnerships and delivering consistent, attractive returns for its investors. Their commitment to innovation and strategic growth positions them as a leader in the industry, capable of navigating complex financial landscapes and meeting the diverse needs of their clients. By leveraging their extensive expertise and resources, the client continues to drive value and achieve significant milestones, reinforcing their reputation as a trusted and reliable partner in the alternative asset management sector.

Challenge

The private equity firm sought to enhance its monthly close processes, reporting, and data governance. The firm faced challenges with complex ownership structures and maintenance due to rapid acquisitions and divestitures. Additionally, a recent IPO required the production of SEC-compliant financial statements and reports.

Solution

To address these issues, we implemented Oracle Cloud EPM Financial Consolidation and Close. The application was designed to handle high data volumes and frequent changes, ensuring a robust solution for the firm’s needs. Because of the constant changes in ownership, the complexity in the ownership structure, and the need for equity calculations, Ownership Management was enabled.

Result

Upon deployment, the Cloud EPM application provided calculations of minority ownership, intercompany transactions, and currency translation. This enabled streamlined financial reporting for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements while improving the accuracy of complex ownership calculations and dramatically reducing the time to close.
