The documentation for the August update to Oracle Cloud EPM has been released. As a reminder, these updates are applied in test during the first daily maintenance that occurs after Friday, August 1, 2025 at 22:00 UTC and in production two weeks later during the first daily maintenance that occurs after Friday, August 15, 2025 at 22:00 UTC. The data integration team has yet another major update this month along with many other notable updates.
This is a pretty exciting update. Pipelines have been this amazing piece of new functionality for well over a year now, but for Account Reconciliation, it didn’t yet exist…until now. With this update, Account Reconciliation finally gets pipelines! Here are the job types direct from Oracle:
While the majority of customers run EPM Automate on a Windows-based server, those customers running EPM Automate on Linux/UNIX must manually update their Java version. With the latest EPM Automate, Java 17 must be installed. Windows-based servers will get this update as part of the update to EPM Automate as it includes the Java install.
Oracle is preparing to roll out a stricter version of the Groovy engine in the second half of 2025, which may cause some previously valid Groovy business rules to fail validation. To help users get ahead of these changes, Oracle has introduced the Groovy Script Validator—a tool designed to scan and flag scripts that won’t comply with the upcoming standards. It generates a detailed report so developers can proactively adjust their rules and avoid disruptions. This update affects several EPM modules, including Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Planning, and Tax Reporting, making early validation a smart move for any team relying on Groovy automation.
As with last month’s addition of IPM to FCCS, this month brings not one, but two new AI features to Oracle Cloud EPM. IPM now has a new Advanced Predictions functionality that utilize machine learning algorithms and OCI Data Science Cloud. With four algorithms to choose from and the ability to explain predictions, this could really change a lot of how we look at forecasting.
But the AI for August doesn’t stop there. We also have Generative AI notes summarization from to Narrative Reporting:
